The “The Marie Stander School of Art” was started in 2000, teaching approximately 70 students at evening and morning classes.
Teaching varies between painting and drawing with a lovely contemporary edge. We also do figurative and portrait work from the live models. The students are exposed to a variety of media and topics varying from figurative, live model, pastell, still life and landscape. Work varies from realism to expressionism and even more abstract interpretations.
The school has an annual charity auction in March at Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch and a well attended student exhibition at the end of each year.
